RV 3.10 sneak peek

We have gotten great feedback and feature requests from our users (thanks!) RV 3.10 is the next major step in RV's evolution.  It builds on RV's core playback engine with richer tools to manage, combine, and review media. Check out our new demo movie of RV 3.10.

A few highlights from RV 3.10 include:

  • Create new Layouts, Stacks, and Sequences in the same RV session
  • Stack or layout sequences for comparison or slap comps
  • Add/Delete sources
  • Re-order timeline, stacks, and layouts with drag/drop
  • Mix sources with different frame rates (real-time pull-up/down)
  • Retime sources individually (stretch, squeeze, resample, offset)
  • Create custom layouts
  • Organize reviews by preparing custom sessions in advance

RV Roadmap User Group at SIGGRAPH

With the coming release of RV (now in beta testing), we've accomplished some of our main goals in terms of RV's long-term infrastructure. Because RV's architecture is very general purpose under the hood, we now have a lot of great options for the direction of RV and new related tools (editing, compositing, DI, animator tools, TD tools, theater playback, etc.). We would like your help charting the future of our software to make sure we are addressing the industry's highest priorities.

To that end we reserved a conference room at Siggraph and met with lots of RV users. If you didn't make it to the meeting, we are still interested in your ideas and feedback.

To give you an idea of what's on the table, please review the list below of broad categories of features that we could pursue. Also, please check out the RV 3.10 demo video. Then feel free to drop us a line with your roadmap ideas and requests at support@tweaksoftware.zendesk.com.

The Future of RV: What should it look like? What are the industry priorities?

You'll find below some general categories of features we think it would be cool to pursue in RV's near future.  Any comments about what we should do first, last, missing feature categories, etc will be greatly appreciated. If you can attend our Roadmap User Group Meeting, please take a few minutes to look over these categories, check out the RV 3.10 demo video, and collect your own ideas, feature requests and requirements.
